It’s a relief to be coming out of the whole Sandy disaster.  We just had our power turned on a couple days ago after being without power for 12 days, a heartfelt thanks goes out to that crew from georgia.  There will always be a special place in my heart for the state of georgia.

When the power went out initially I thought, “At least I play an acoustic instrument…just light a candle and out on an extra sweater.”

Then the temperature dropped and it was more like, “Can we cook a frozen pizza on the grill.  Does the supermarket have ice?  Which gas station still has gas?”

We are lucky to have kind neighbors and someone lent us a generator.  Another neighbor created a way for us to hook it up to the furnace.

I learned how fragile our world is, never take heat and power for granted, and someday I am going to buy a wood stove.  Somehow I wrote a couple new tunes through this whole ordeal…should wind up on the next album.  My heart and prayers go out to the folks still recovering in queens, long island, and the jersey shore.
