New Recording On the Way – June 2016!

Latest recording by the Claire Daly 5’tet, explores the music of motown, and will be released by the innovative North Coast Brewing Co. record label. The band features Claire Daly on sax/flute, yours truly on piano, Jerome Harris on guitar, Peter Grant on drums, and MaryAnn McSweeney on bass. We have received rave reviews from Downbeat and other reviewers, and I’ll follow up with more info, music links, and concert dates in the coming weeks.

Princeton Concert, June 13th – Steve Hudson/Ugonna Okegwo/Gerald Cleaver

The trio’s Princeton Concert is Saturday, June 13, 8 pm at the Paul Robeson Theater.  It’s going to a special night of new originals, music of Duke Ellington/Billy Strayhorn, and a couple surprises.  Not to be missed!

Hunkering Down

It;s been a busy couple weeks!  Recorded a new album at Avatar with saxophonist Claire Daly, Jerome Harris, Peter Grant, and Mary Ann McSweeney… of Motown all arranged by Claire…it was great day.  Also, been hunkering down writing music for a feature film, the sound of magic.  It’s a musical that is really funny with a genie who has a habit of messing up wishes….will keep you posted on the release date!

We explored many new exciting originals for vocals and the band, as well as the music of Nick Drake and David Bowie (Man Who Sold the World).
